Happy Holidays!
Well, the 2nd edition of The Phoenix Project turned out to be almost 12,000 words longer! That was a surprise to me but it really does make the book better. There are three new scenes and half-a-dozen more that have been “extended”.
The 2nd edition of Dark Horizon is proceeding quickly and will probably be around 5,000 words longer than the original and has also had some corrections made to improve readability just like the first novel.
Now, I know what your thinking: “Kris, will there be a 2nd edition of all your books? Is the Flight for the Ancients going to have an extended cut as well?”
Short answer?
No.
Longer answer?
The first two novels were edited down considerably on the advice of perspective agents who told me that my books were WAY too long. So I edited them down to what was recommended.
Truth is that I cut out too much material and decided to restore the material that I felt badly needed to be in the first two novels. I didn’t do that with the third novel and won’t be doing that with the future books either.
So, no extended cuts for the rest of the books because it’s not needed!
