I started reading this book on Christmas Day evening and finished it on Boxing Day night.

It is is a beautifully crafted tale which slides along effortlessly and magically, weaving together the sharp and bitter flavours of reality and childhood memory with the sweet and intricate tastes of a fairy tale world whose seams are stretched and ready to burst; barely containing (and at times letting slip a sliver of) the infinite void of mystical wonder beyond.
