I have been working on my next book. It is almost finished, but I just can't bring myself to complete it when I feel that the middle is not as strong as it could be. In this book, it is not as much about action as it is about character development. Now I must go back and rewrite until I am satisfied with how it reads, and only then can I bring it to an end with the right sense of satisfaction. Who doesn't hate having to highlight and then press on reams upon reams of hard work? It a process, I tell myself. With so many intelligent readers out there, one has to do one's best.
