Gone again. Have you considered publishing it at Smashwords?
David wrote: "Gone again. Have you considered publishing it at Smashwords?"My publisher has asked me to rewrite a part of one of the chapters, for reasons that I don't completely understand.
Anyway, this isn't Amazon's request, it's my publisher's. I hope to have it up again in a week.
Here, I thought the controversy was about Chapter 20, not about the end of an earlier chapter.
Poison wrote: "I dont remember anything bad in chapter 1"As it turns out, it's elsewhere. Now you know something about the tedious side of writing. Is it worth it? I'm not convinced. I suppose it would be easy, if I wrote brainless romance novels.
There's probably more money in it too. I made a lousy $1000 on Oh Claire!. I'm only one of hundreds if not thousands of writers of "bleeding edge" fiction who deal with this crap.
The idea was, you write something novel and exciting that people want to read. You don't do it for the dollars.
That said, there's a limit to what anyone is willing to put up with to author a book that pushes the limit. The only thing that drives such an author, is feedback from readers. Otherwise, I could just write for myself. To be honest, I have three, 50,000 - word-plus novels, already written, that I would never publish, because there are too many jerks out there who would complain about them.
Poison wrote: "You can send them to me any time!"Dear Poison,
[First off - I really love your GR name- Poison - that is scary and evil and sexy and oh so, so erotic]
These stories are in "rough draft" form. However, if you want, I'll dig them out, fix what I quickly can, and send them.
Thanks for the note, BTW. It cheered me up a lot when I was feeling pretty low.
