Hi! Ok, full disclosure: I am so amazingly psyched that my novella is out in the world. I've been eying stats and views on Amazon semi-constantly. It's all ridiculous.

A week ago, I never would have thought that I'd be published. Gilded Gift is something I wrote as part of a project ending the school year, and I've been writing for maybe two months. It just never clicked for me that clicking "publish" through the KDP program would actually, you know, publish. It's crazy. It's exciting. It's not nearly as hard as it's made out to be.

If you have insane ideas about how the world could be, I encourage you to jot them down, develop them, write something halfway cohesive. Then go back through and make it all spiffy. Then get a few second opinions on its spiffiness. Then, for starters, get a Kindle Direct Publish account via Amazon and hit that button, the publish button--it's such a rush when you realize, fully, the extent of your sudden viewership, especially if you advertise it on social media, bookstores, and the like. It's a great feeling.
