Leap of faith

Love, I’ve always believed, is a leap of faith. And I had been inspired to jump once..

But the thing is, once you’ve closed your eyes & taken that plunge, the moment you realize that the only thing rushing up to meet you is the cold, hard unforgiving ground of reality, the moment you realize that you’ve ironically ‘fallen’ in love, that’s when it dawns on you that love..is like that faceless woman in your dreams, who teases you with her lilting laugh & vanishes as you reach out. And when you pick up the shattered pieces of your heart & soul, you promise yourself that the pain isn’t worth enduring again.

Love, I’ve always believed, is a leap of faith. I remember Morpheus from ‘The Matrix’ telling Neo, moments before he jumps from one rooftop to another, “Free your mind.” I’ve freed my mind, I’ve made peace with my reality, & no, thank you, but I’d rather not leap anymore.
