In May 1498, six years after Cristobal Colon's arrival in Santa Domingo, 'The Admiral' left San Lucar de Barrameda on the south west coast of Spain. His return journey to The Americas had been delayed for more than a year due to lack of funds and the Catholic Kings dwindling faith in 'Colon's' supposed fast route to the Orient.
Waiting for him on the island of Hispaniola were the settlers from his previous voyage. Would they still be alive when he eventually returned?
