It's Been A While!

I have seriously loved August this year! Here in England the weather hasn't been amazing, but the rain can't dampen my spirit.

Riot Girl has been given such a warm welcome from readers across the world and has by far been my best seller to date. This has been so great; it's not secret that I hit a bit of a rut with my writing earlier this year. I found it hard to keep motivated following the loss of my best friend and greatest fan, my beautiful Mum last year.

She was always the one spurring me on and asking me when 'our book' would be finished so she could read more. Without her I had a hard time getting the stories down on paper and was ready to call it quits. With the encouragement of some great writer friends I spurred on and Indi from Riot Girl kept yelling at me to finish her story.

Riot Girl was released on 1st August and has seen sales across the UK, USA, Australia and Europe! Usually the sales last around a week before tailing off to one or two occasional ones, but Riot Girl is still going strong. I'm so glad; I LOVED writing this rock-n-roll romance and I really enjoyed Indi's relationship with her son and old love, Joel. It was a hard one to decide which way Indi would go, because I'm half #TeamDaniel and half #TeamJoel so how could I help her choose?

I've signed up to a local market event next month and so I've been busy getting goodies together to hand out with signed copies of my books; as you can see I've gotten a little carried away!

I myself LOVE freebies and so I want to be able to offer a little extra to those wonderful people who buy the signed paperbacks from me. I'm also from a sales/marketing background in my 9-5 and so I love looking for and designing goodies to go with my books.

I've already started to put together gift packs for my next fiction book, My Immortal! My Immortal is a kick-ass vampire romance/thriller which has pretty much been writing itself so far. The characters and story are darker than Pieces of Me and Riot Girl and I've been enjoying the edgier side of the romance genre.

C is for Cancer is still on-going; it is taking longer to write than I originally anticipated, because I want to do it the justice it deserves. Also, because it is based on a true story it is bringing back a lot of painful memories so I am flicking back and forth between this and My Immortal so I can get a break from the more emotional parts of the book.

I have also been busy working on my first non-fiction So, You Want to Write a Book? This is a guide to independent publishing based on my own experiences over the last twenty-six months and contains information I wish I had known at the beginning of my journey. It will be available exclusively through Amazon until January 2016 and is available for pre-order on Kindle NOW!
