AUTHOR TALK INTERVIEW SESSION – John Rataczak

September 15, 2015        IMG_06CES (3)

‘Author Talk Interview Session’ was created to promote fellow authors and their work.  The interview questions will spotlight the guest writer, show them love, peace, and respect by allowing them to tell you about their books, other projects and plans to promote.  It is also designed to give an author who reads the blog interview posted, insights on how they can grow and share in this huge literary field.   This blog interviews will be posted on Facebook, GoodReads, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Google, Twitter, and NetworkedBlogs.

RAVEN’S MISSION STATEMENT: I firmly believe God’s way of doing business is the best method.  When we join hands with each other it not only helps us learn and grow it creates bonds between fellow authors.   As team players, we will learn to share instead of competing, grasping and grabbing for recognition and financial gain.      BE BLESSED!

GUEST: Today’s guest is a John Rataczak.  He was referred to me by one of my friends.  I’ve learned a great deal reading his bio and having him answer questions.  I hope you enjoy the interview as much as I have.

AUTHOR BIO:

John Rataczak was born in Columbia, Missouri and raised in the St. Louis area.  He was saved at an early age through the ministry of the Chatham Bible Church of Wellston, Missouri (now located in Hazelwood, Missouri).

His father was a chemical engineer and his mother was a housewife.  Both were saved during John’s early childhood years.  Certainly the truth of Acts 16:31 applies in this case: in a short time all the members of the family received Christ as Savior!  Both Ed and Mary (his parents) are now with the Lord.

God led John to become involved in full-time Christian work during his freshman year at Bob Jones University.  Since that calling, he has earned a B.A. in Bible, an M.A. in Pastoral Studies, and a Ph.D. in New Testament Text (Greek).

His teaching experience includes teaching Greek, Hebrew, Theology, Apologetics, Church History, English Bible, and various Biblical Backgrounds courses in three Christian colleges and two graduate schools.  In addition, he served as a soccer coach in two ministries.

His pastoral experience includes ministries in Pennsylvania and Ohio.  He has filled the pulpit of many Bible-believing churches in a number of states as well and plans to initiate a Bible Conference ministry as God supplies the opportunity.

Presently he is the founder and sole proprietor of Eleutheros Books.

He is the father of two sons and resides in Ohio.

Of course his main interest is to study the Word and win the lost to Christ, but he also has interests in sports and current events.

John Rataczak’s (copy/pasted) questionnaire answers:

What genre do you write? I write Christian non-fiction (strongly Biblically based) books.
What inspired you to write? I had wanted to write for quite a number of years.  It was always easy to start a project, but ministry demands made it difficult to pursue the dream.

Finally, the Lord spoke to me and asked if I wanted to write on a full-time basis. I knew He was calling me to do so, and the result is Eleutheros Books.

I entered my first pastorate after having taught in three colleges. The Monday after my first sermon there, I entered the office and realized that I had been training pastors but had never been one!

So I asked the Lord, “What do I do now?”

That day He revealed to me that I should visit everyone in the church and present a series of messages on salvation as I learned what the needs in the church were.

I entitled that series “The Ramifications of Our Salvation.”

Since those days, I have filled the pulpits of many churches and met Christians in many situations. It is my firm conviction that there are millions of Christians worldwide who know they are saved and that heaven in theirs, but they have very little awareness of what happened at that all-important moment.

The calling from God, the awareness of the need, and the title to that series combined to form the inspiration to write my first book, “The Ramifications of Our Salvation.”

I am a self-published author.

At the present time, I am promoting “A Portrait of Jesus.”

I enjoy meeting people, but because of a limited budget it has to be mainly on a local basis.

Would you travel and do speaking engagements to promote your book(s)?

I do get out to local churches.

List some places you would like to visit and meet fans?

If God would allow it, I would love to go to India and Kenya. 1,000 books are in India, and soon books will be printed in Kenya.

My main methods of promotion are LinkedIn, Twitter, and radio and TV interviews.

Are you planning to write more books?

God willing, I will write several more books.

Where can we purchase your work?

My books can be purchased from the website (strongly preferred way!): www.eleutherosbooks.com

I prefer people purchase there for quite a number of reasons; the main ones–1. I can get the books to them much faster, and 2. I can send them a thank you note and keep touch with them.

The books are also available on amazon (very impersonal!) and Logos Bible Software (John Rataczak Collection).

In what formats can we purchase your book(s)? (ex. a. paperback b. E-book c. audio)

Paperback, ebook, and Logos Bible Software.

How can we keep up with your journey?

I have a newsletter that people can subscribe to:

www.eleutherosbooks.com and click on the “newsletter” link.

Is there a way for fans to ask you questions?

There is a “contact” link on the website and a phone number on my business card.

Fun question:

If your book gets chosen for a movie, who would you like to play the main characters?

I doubt seriously that I would ever have my ministry made into a movie.
