I write this half jokingly, but very much seriously about bullying and negotiating those adolescent wonder years.

I wrote the novel while entertaining the thought of making high school life entertaining, fun and full of the wonder of discovering self as one is coming of age. The story was meant to show that though you may feel weak and think of your bully as someone being powerful, having it all together and confident; often times bullies are just as insecure and lost as their victims are. In addition to that, they are often victims and prey to a much greater force be it internal or external; be it peer pressure or familial expectations.

The power I feel that victims of bullying have, is the power to recognize that the bully's are often time caught up in a vicious cycle of of expectancy either from their own peers and/ or family; which is why in Taming of The Golden Boys the reader is able to go inside the minds of some of the bullies and hear what they are thinking and feeling.

So I'm asking the reading audience, is it possible for the bully and his prey to become friends and or fall in love with each other? What do you think?
