Are Werewolves Becoming More Sexy and less Scary?

Where could we be without the romantic genre? It's a genre where we sit back and relax and connect to the characters and their romantic experiences with their partners and such. Historically it has been widely read by women and some by men. It's the summer's favorite genre for what we have heard. However recently, we have seen the romantic genre explode in the werewolf genre, a genre in which explores the terror of the beast? The murderer of man.

The werewolf is a creature sought to be feared by men. Historically in some villages in Europe and as well of course America, there were people who would go hunt for the legendary werewolf due to fear and/or admiration of this murderous beast. They were widely feared since the beginning of European Imperialism. So why have recently this feared beast faded into the romantic genre?

Many will date back to 2008 when the movie Twilight came out. In the film, we see a teenaged, shirtless Taylor Lautner transform into a giant wolf wowing girls and shaming men everywhere. Has the movie alone destroyed on what made werewolves so feared?

Werewolves today are depicted as sexy, sexually satisfying, 6-pack young men who like to abuse, assault, and own their female counterparts. Not all of them, but most werewolf men tend to be abusive. If you have read most stories written on WattPad you understand where this is coming from.

The Alpha is seen to be the guy who gets all the women but yet winds up being an abusive asshole? And this is sexy? Okay then that means Beauty and the Beast could be the blame for romanticising this type of transformation. Instead of being feared and/or tortured, these beasts are free-thinking, everyday Americans who drink beer, hang out shirtless or not, with a "pack" secluded in an isolated forest in the west coast but yet never gotten the attention by the United States Federal Government or if they knew, why have they not crack down on them? One wonders this.

When one think of romance, we think of those that have the perfect chemistry between man and woman....or man and man/woman and woman but whatever. Now it's man and beast. Yes, prepare folks for the historic wedding between a woman and her abusive pet.

Now I'm not gonna say, OHHH THIS IS HORRIBLE AND blah blah blah, now albeit, it is kinda...strange. But in my book, The God of Alpha, a werewolf can fly and can shoot energy blasts DragonBall Z style! So if Romance can adopt the Werewolf why not other genres?

We can do so much to the werewolf it's remarkable, there is no holds bar. So if you have an idea and you want to write that a werewolfThe God of Alpha can be President of France, or that Marcus Garvey is a werewolf hunter who joins forces with a vampire, or something, it's all good. Imagination has no limits.
