Well, I read these posts from other authors saying that Amazon is taking down reviews posted by their followers. I get that they don't want fake reviews and all, but come on. First of all, they know who bought the book, they can see that. Second of all, it's okay for someone who dislikes the author to post a bogus poor review, but it isn't okay for a fan to post a good review? I just don't get it. And this is really happening. An author friend of mine recently had a few reviews disappear from her last book. Thankfully I didn't have my accounts connected, but it still poses the question, why do they think they need to police our reviews? And if they are doing this to indie authors and authors who are less known, are they doing this to the most popular authors? Have they removed reviews for everyone who follows Stephen King on Twitter just because they follow him? Are they removing reviews for everyone who follows Nora Roberts on Facebook? If they do, I imagine these authors would have a huge problem with what they are doing. The fact of the matter is, in 2015, we use social media to get our names out there. How else are we supposed to connect with readers?
