Nuke It From Orbit.

So, we’ve come to it.  Cinema Fromage, after 10 years of various scribblings on movies and other such nonsense, has been wiped clean.

Yes, it’s a bit hard for me to swallow too.  But, we’re going to take this as a positive.

To be clear, this wasn’t a choice made by me.  Sadly, CinemaFromage.com was hacked and had code that was injected and was involved in some phishing scams.  Again, not something I chose to do.  But it happened all the same.  So my web host shut us down for the time being and forced me to start over.  I still have the content, no fears on that front.  But why not take this as a chance to start something new?

You see, 2015 has not been a good year for me here behind the scenes.  Lots of tests, trials and tribulations, lots of sadness, lots of stress, quite a bit of depression.  It sucked.  With all that suckage, came a bit of mental exhaustion which caused me to back away from writing and creative endeavors in general for the most part.  Sure, I had the occasional bout of brightness with the continued podcasting, but I haven’t been a writer for a good long while.  While wallowing in self loathing, it’s something I like to rub in to myself a lot.

“You’re not a writer anymore.” It’s true what they say; I’m my own worst critic.

So, while normally something like my 10 years of blogging getting wiped out would send me into an anxiety attack, I’ve decided to be constructive about it.  I’ve decided, it’s time to stake a change! You see, I’ll be honest here.  I love horror movies.  Always have, always will.  I love podcasting about horror movies as well.  That hasn’t changed at all.  But, I’m pretty burnt out on writing about them.  Sure, I’ll still do it from time to time, but there’s no real passion there for it anymore.  That makes it hard for me to want to sit down and do it.

So, I’m not going to do it anymore.  Well, at least I’m not going to do it when I don’t feel like doing it.  I’m going to write though, and the all new Cinema Fromage.com is going to be where that happens.

I don’t mean to toot my own horn, but it’s fair to say I’ve become fairly well known over my 10 years of writing and podcasting.  People reach out to say hi and let me know if they like my shows or not fairly often.  With that in mind, phase 2 of Cinema Fromage is going to evolve from a simple horror movie blog to a ‘Casey Criswell’ blog.  A blog about me.

Contain your excitement.

We’re going to hang out and talk about a lot of stuff.  Movies, video games, Netflix, books.  What leads a middle aged man to strive to become a professional geek.  Some story telling.  Some frustrations.  Some ruminations and observations.

Let’s hope for the best, yah?

Edit: Oh, and ignore the web address for now.  That will be CinemaFromage.com again once support decides to check their email.
