Character Chemistry

Confession: A good author often leaks into their characters. It's what makes them intriguing and relatable.
It's the reason why Stephenie Meyer's Bella is originally from Phoenix Arizona.
Why JK Rowling's Harry Potter was named after one of her own neighbors and even shares her birthday.
And it's why Alexandra Chase hates road trips!
By writing characters with similar backgrounds and quirks they become human - which in turn makes them relatable to readers.
It's the part I look forward to the most when I send my treasured story out into the world. The anticipation and joy of watching readers connect with the characters; that perfect chemistry that results in Love... even at times... for a villain.
