Reading Resolution 2016 - 10 authors I will read another novel by this year

Last year, I pledged to read more from 10 authors. I hit all of them except George R.R. Martin (Where the fk is Winds of Winter already?) and Joe McKinney. I am unsure about Tim Curran, and I'm too lazy to check as I write this. In the 10th spot, I hit Michael McBride.

Here is last year's list and the books I read or re-read:

1. Stephen King - Dark Tower 3, 4, 4.5; The Shining; Revival: and A Death
2. Gillian Flynn - Gone Girl, Dark Places
3. William Miekle - Island Life
4. Jonathan Janz - Exorcist Road
5. Tim Curran - :(
6. Jeff Strand - Specimen 313; Draculas
7. George R.R. Martin - the s.o.b. Where is it?
8. Laird Barron - The Croning; Part of The Imago Sequence
9. Joe McKinney - missed
10. (Reserved - with nods going to Greg Gifune, James Newman and Michael McBride at the moment - hopefully I get all 12) - read McBride's Condemned

This year's list is going to have repeats because I didn't get my fill or I missed last year. Strand, Janz and Barron may make my list every year:

1. Stephen King - The Wolves of the Calla is next up for me
2. Jonathan Janz - Children of the Dark is a must read. But Nightmare Girl is up next from him.
3. Tim Curran
4. Laird Barron - At the least, I will finish the Imago Sequence
5. Joe McKinney
6. James Newman - earns an official spot
7. Poppy Z. Brite
8. Edward Lee
9. Brian Moreland
10. Greg Gifune, Shane MacKenzie, Lee Thompson

But of course, I'll read whatever else I fancy over the course of the year. These are (hopefully) guarantees and I welcome buddy reads! Also, anything from authors I know and support, like the Light Bros., Xane, Lorn, and, more recently met, Glenn Rolfe, I will read regularly and give HONEST reviews on projects I am not affiliated with.

Looking forward to some great reads!

Glenn Rolfe Glad to have met you, Jason. Thanks for the mention.
I look forward to your next offering.

Re-reads here: The Long Walk by King. I'm also hoping to re-read some of Brian Keene's earlier works (Ghoul and Urban Gothic) and hopefully re-read Bentley Little's The Resort.

Cheers!

Mine, too. Read it about 12 years ago. It's nice to revisit.

I think I read it about 6 years ago myself but I will definitely have to take that walk again sometime soon. King can still pen a decent story but I think I'll always love his older works the best.

Brian Keene and Bentley Little were right on the cusp. If I don't read them this year, I will next. Same for JA Konrath

Don't worry, I have Subterranean in my queue to read this year. I haven't forgotten Mr. McBride.

I'm with you there. King's work through the 80s will always be my favorite. But I am plowing through the Dark Tower series, so he's will be at the top of my list until that's done.
