When starting a new book, one of the hardest decisions I have to make is selecting the kind of character I want my hero to be. Do I want him to be:

1. The strong, superhero type who is the take-control kind of guy. The one man in all the world my heroine knows will keep her safe.
Or...

2. The quiet, silent type whose emotions run deep and whose passion simmers below the surface. The kind whose emotions only appear when he finds his perfect love.
Or...

3. The successful, executive type who is used to making on-the-spot decisions. The kind of man who uses his intelligence to solve any problem, but can't seem to think straight once he meets my heroine.
Or...

4. The typical boy next door who is always there when my heroine needs him. The guy my heroine wakes up one day to realize is still her best friend BUT also the man of her dreams.
Or...

5. The living on the edge, bad boy who shows my heroine a life she's never experienced before. The kind of hero who needs the love of a good woman to unearth the goodness that's buried deep inside him.
Or...

6. Oh, there are so many more.
