Yes, all his books are connected to a greater or lesser extent. Spotting the links can be part of the fun. Although The Bone Clocks is the second of the Marinus trilogy (the first is The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet), it doesn't really matter what order you read his books: the connections are more of a web than a line.
