Michelle Hello Charlotte!

message 3: by Michelle (last edited Oct 06, 2025 09:49PM) (new)

Michelle I'm currently reading Hidden Peril (Code of Honor, #2) by Irene Hannon by Irene Hannon. I'm thinking about using it for Read a book by an author whose first and last initials are found in THANKSGIVING. The initials will also work for CHRISTMAS. I'll probably finish sometime this week. What do you think about this? Any plans for your first book?

message 4: by Charlotte (new)

Charlotte Hi Michelle!

I'm excited to do this challenge together!

I'm still not sure which book I'll start with, probably Gulliver’s Travels. It is set before 1800.

message 5: by Michelle (new)

Michelle I'm excited too! This is my first team challenge.

message 6: by Charlotte (new)

Charlotte Oooo! That's extra exciting!! I hope that you enjoy your first team challenge then :D

message 7: by Michelle (new)

Michelle I finished my first book! Next, I'm going to read The Right Kind of Fool by Sarah Loudin Thomas for a book featuring a child (0-17 years old). One of the main characters, Loyal, is 13 years old.

Great job!
I'm currently in the middle of two books, and I'm hoping to finish at least one of them tomorrow!

Sharon, this is not a thread in which to recruit for other groups.

Michelle I'm thinking about using Besotted (The Fairest Maidens #3) by Jody Hedlund for the book set in autumn. It starts in September and looks like it's going to take place through November.

message 11: by Charlotte (new)

Charlotte First of all, that is a gorgeous cover!! I love her dress so much!

Secondly, that sounds like a great idea, go for it :-)

message 12: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Thanks Charlotte!

Next, I'll read Out of Time (Undaunted Courage, #3) by Irene Hannon . I plan to use it for a book set in North America - it takes place in Missouri.

The only other continent I'll use is Europe. I doubt I'll read a book set in Asia, Africa, and South America before the year ends.

message 13: by Charlotte (new)

Charlotte Yeah, I highly doubt I'll read a book set in Asia, Africa, or South America either!

message 14: by Michelle (new)

Michelle I decided to use Out of Time (Undaunted Courage, #3) by Irene Hannon for "a character goes for a walk". It could also be used for a book set in autumn, but I have already used that one. I'll save the North America category for later.

message 15: by Charlotte (new)

Charlotte Sounds good!

message 16: by Michelle (new)

Michelle I'm currently reading The Black Midnight (True Colors) by Kathleen Y'Barbo . I plan to use it for "set in the 1800s". It's set in 1885 and 1889.

message 17: by Michelle (new)

Michelle I am also reading To Whisper Her Name (Belle Meade Plantation, #1) by Tamera Alexander and plan to use it for " book with a horse on the cover." Because I am taking my time with it, I'll probably finish around the end of October or in early November.

message 18: by Charlotte (new)

Charlotte Sounds great!

message 19: by Charlotte (new)

Charlotte I actually just checked, and I forgot to post a book I finished hehe. So posting now!

message 20: by Charlotte (new)

Charlotte I'm currently working on Mistborn The Final Empire (The Mistborn Saga, #1) by Brandon Sanderson , and I'll probably use it for "Read a book in which a character goes shopping." because it talks about the MC going to buy more dresses, which is considered shopping.

message 21: by Charlotte (new)

Charlotte I'm also working on Hollow City (Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children, #2) by Ransom Riggs , and I'll probably use it for "Read a book with a child on the cover."

message 22: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Sounds like a good plan. Thanks for the updates!

message 23: by Michelle (new)

Michelle I finished To Whisper Her Name (Belle Meade Plantation, #1) by Tamera Alexander sooner than I expected!

message 24: by Charlotte (new)

Charlotte Great job!!

message 25: by Charlotte (new)

message 26: by Michelle (last edited Oct 20, 2025 06:09PM) (new)

Michelle I'm reading Ransome's Crossing (The Ransome Trilogy, #2) by Kaye Dacus . I will use it for a book with a man and a woman on the cover.

message 27: by Michelle (new)

Michelle I'm thinking about using The Black Midnight (True Colors) by Kathleen Y'Barbo for decorating a Christmas tree. This one is taking me a little longer to finish.

message 28: by Michelle (new)

Michelle I'm currently reading 8 Down (Alaskan Cyber Hunters #2) by Kimberley Woodhouse and plan to use it for a book set in winter as it's taking place in January and February.

message 29: by Michelle (new)

Michelle I plan to use Winning Over the Baker by Danielle Thorne for a coffee cup or teacup on the cover.

message 30: by Charlotte (new)

Charlotte Whoa great job!!

Sorry for barely being active!!
Life is totally catching up with me, and I am having barely any time!

message 31: by Michelle (new)

Michelle That's OK. I hope all is going well with you.

I enjoy reading. How much I read depends on what goes on in my spare time. This month I seem to have good timing on finishing my books.

message 32: by Michelle (new)

Michelle I'm going to read Targeted by Lynette Eason for a book with an orange cover.

message 33: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Today I plan to finish Shadowed Witness (The Secrets of Kincaid, #2) by Angela Carlisle by Angela Carlisle and will use it for an author whose initials are in Christmas.

I will use Life Everlasting (Santee, #2) by Robert Whitlow by Robert Whitlow for an author whose initials are found in New Year's Eve.

message 34: by Michelle (new)

Michelle I'm going to use A Rebel Heart (Daughtry House #1) by Beth White for a book set on the Gulf Coast. It's set in Mississippi. I started reading this today. I plan to finish it sometime this week.

I will also use White Christmas Pie by Wanda E. Brunstetter for a book with a desert on the cover. I think I'll start this tomorrow and will finish in about a week or two.

message 35: by Charlotte (new)

Charlotte I have finished a few books, but haven't posted them. I will hopefully find time sometime this coming week.

Great work though!! You are definitely carrying this challenge!

message 36: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Thank you! You're are also doing great work too! 600+ page books take a a lot of time to read!

message 37: by Renee (new)

Renee Kennedy I’m re-reading (does that count?) London Tides by Carla Laureano.
Set in Europe and the character goes shopping, as all good characters shall.
Still trying to understand GR forums. Thanks.

message 38: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox Renee, rereads absolutely would count. However, this game is closed to sign-ups. I can add you to the waiting list, if you like. The waiting list is for if a player has to pull out at some point. The alternative is that you may keep track of your own game on this thread.
