I enjoyed one of Maeve Binchy’s books many years ago. I have to read some more of hers.
Yes - "women's fiction" was always looked down upon and classed as low-brow - because it was concerned with family, relationships, children, and women's work. How wrong!
Glad you enjoyed these stories, Diane. I read many of her books way back but really have the urge to revisit them.
I love Maeve. Discovered her in my late 20s (many moons ago!) and I am still drawn to her books. She is like a warm cuppa tea for me! ☘️
Antoinette, revisiting her at this point might be a good thing.
Angela, I do think you would enjoy her.

"Copied and pasted" for possible future use, Diane.
I love short stories, and I’m adding this collection. I had the same idea about Binchy. Glad it’s not true! Terrific review!
I always loved her. Some people know how to capture a slice of life, and she was one of them. Glad you got to her, Diane.
I have overlooked her works for the very same reason as you, Diane. I love a solid short story collection, especially from an author I haven't read yet. Thank you for bringing this one to my attention.
