i didn't like the cave at all, I had to skim read it, get to safety, then go back and read it more slowly ;-) You KNOW she is going to make it but it will still very fraught. In contrast, you knew when she asked for someone to stay with her before she was walled up (later)... you knew she had a plan, that was much less tense!
I absolutely hate underground so that cave scene totally freaked me out. A testament to the quality of the writing, I feel.
