A few readers have stated this book came across very any-Jacob. I haven't read the book as I don't like Crash. Jacob is a favourite of mine. I adore him and I wonder what you think about that assessment from readers about how Jacob came across in this book?
I didn't feel like the book was anti-Jacob at all. The thing you have to remember is that Crash is an ex, and they're exes for a reason. Jacob and Vic are together, and that's also for a reason. It would be weird if Crash idealized Jacob and overlooked his flaws the same way Vic does.
Not so much anti-Jacob as a realistic, if jaded, view of him, I think. I personally don't really like Jacob because he comes across as a jerk a lot of the time, yet, for some reason, Vic loves him (I still have trouble with their relationship, even if they're both happy with each other).
I really appreciated seeing everyone from Crash's point of view and it's nice to know that my response to Jacob isn't just me.
I thought Jacob came across OK. He was always helping out and being very considerate, I thought. The chemistry was just not right from the start... which we all knew, if we read any of the previous books! And Crash couldn't read Jacob at all, which was a big part of it. (And conversely, that was what Vic found perfect about Jacob from the start.)
