Hey S, thank you for the reply! I really enjoy your reviews, so it's a treat. Having read LGBTQIA (SF, Rom, and YA) nonstop for about a year and half now, I agree with you. My question sure was naive, but at that time, I had just discovered the flood of queer books written since 2010, had newly joined GR, and was wide-eyed and trying to see what there was. Case of working academic finally returning to genre-fic roots & wanting to read and write again. Absolutely agree w your answer, now that I've read more widely. One of the rdg highlights of the past year for me has been tons more own voices, trans, f/f, and ace-aro genre fic. Now that my semester's over, I'm gonna try to catch up w reviews. Prob a lot of ppl are in the same situation. Again, thanks for the response and Happy New Year.
