They have been through so much that I would hate to see another crisis come to life.
Melody...thanks for understanding my point. One option I do have is slightly convoluted, but it appeals to me a lot more. I wrote a short story called "The Long Way Home" for "Premiere" (the first anthology of the RWA) that tells the short story of Savannah's cousin, Clary, falling in love with her boyfriend, Ford. I very much like the idea of continuing Clary and Ford's story by having them attend Savannah and Asher's wedding. That way, readers get another glimpse into Savannah and Asher's happy ending, but Clary and Ford can certainly tackle a few more bumps in the road before they have THEIR happily-ever-after. It's an option that appeals to me far more. So, we'll see...
Wow...great answer Katy..I wanted an epilogue at the end of the book...BUT, you're right, they have their HEA and I LOVE that...I don't want them to have any more problems...
:).
Ruth, I love it that you see my point...it's a real conundrum for authors. They want to give readers another little "visit" but if there's been a happy ending, you don't necessarily want to shake that up. We'll see. I *may* write Ford and Clary's story down the line and have Asher and Savannah make an appearance. :)
Yes that's what I was thinking! have them be an appearance in a sequel! They don't need anymore harshness in their lives but I want to see them with babies on the way <3 also you're so amazing for not selling out (like most of my previous favorite authors) and just writing a follow up just to get more out of the book! gold star for being a rad person as well as an amazing author. She wasn't really in this book but i also think the girl that Trent raped in high school could make for an interesting story that could also give us a reason to see savannah and asher again!
Hey, Jessica ... Great name, btw ... One of my favorite English Brothers heroines is named Jessica. :) Thanks for the kind words. One of the most awesome things about writing Indy is that I can 100% follow my muse and my conscience which is the best. Muse says I will prob end up writing Ford and Clary's story (in addition to Ford's brothers, Dodge and Lincoln) because the McInerney brothers are pretty compelling. And it's such a great opportunity to reintroduce Savannah, Asher, Scarlet, etc. We'll see, but definitely stay tuned and thanks for the kickass review!! ❤️
Oooh i'll have to get started on that series then :P Oh man would that all authors just be indy's then if thats the secret its such a bummer to get 9 books in (or 20 in one series) then realize there's no effort being put into them anymore. Or worse that they aren't even writing them anymore just slapping their name on a crappy finished product. Were Ford and Clary in Vixen? i don't remember them
No. Ford and Clary appear in "The Long Way Home" a short story included in 'Premiere' (a collection of short stories published by the RWA.) But you don't have to buy that whole book to read them...if you wait until next Spring, I will have the rights back and I will incorporate their story into a TVTV sequel. (Probably.) In the meantime, check out "Playing for Love at Deep Haven" (another standalone of mine) or The English Brothers. See what you think! xoxox
Playing for love is already on my kindle unlimited list and the first English brothers is already on my nook. But i've decided to portion them out...wait til i'm about to give up on all books ever THEN read them :D
LOL!!! Good strategy! Enjoy and keep in touch! If you want to be in the lottery for early-ARC reads (I give away 15 copies of each book 10 days in advance in exchange for reviews) join my Street Team, Katy's Ladies on Facebook! xoxox
Like you said, Asher and Samantha (especially Asher) have had enough darkness. I want Asher to live happily ever after. I'm ok ending their great story where it ended. BUT..... I wouldn't mind a little happy glimpse here or there in Ford and Clary's story.
Hey Anna! I get the rights back to Clary and Ford's story next Spring, so stay tuned...I just might invite them to Savannah and Asher's wedding!
