[close] welcome to this (political) debate club for teens! if you are a political person, come here to speak your opinion. if you are looking for a place to politely pick fights with people, this is the group for you too. feel free to create any debate topics. we do political (and some non-political) debates of all sorts, and your opinion matters here, as it should everywhere :) for members who just joined: welcome! go introduce yourself and put your pronouns in the new members section! take a look at the tone indicators topic, we use them in debates. there is also a chat in the other section, feel free to talk about whatever there.

[close] The VINE Book Club meets monthly to discuss books of interest to animal advocates who work within an ecological awareness of the linkages between animal exploitation and other forms of injustice. Most months, we all read the same book and then meet together to discuss it, often with the author or another expert in attendance. Some months, we all read different books on the same theme, and then meet to teach each other what we learned. Everyone is welcome to every meeting! [close] Radical Reading is a new GR bookclub group dedicated to nonfiction books on various topics from a progressive, liberating, anti-racist, feminist and queer perspective. We have buddy reads and an active discussion board, where we talk about the books we read, exchange ideas or just have fun. Our goal is to engage in lively, productive and respectful conversations to expand our horizon and become an advocate/activist for positive societal change. The range of nonfiction books we read and discuss is wide, covering genres such as history, economy, art, sociology or politics. Our group is still new and thus a work in progress, however we gladly welcome new members! Please read the guidelines for a membership request. Guidelines for requesting membership 1) Prospective members must have an active public profile; a request from an inactive and non-public profile is rejected 2) We have mandatory questions you must answer when you apply 3) Authors are welcome; however self-promotion is not allowed 4) We may reject an application if we feel that the person is not joining in good faith, e.g. just here to provoke, troll or spread hateful content; or for the reasons stated under 1) and 2)
