[close] This is a new book club aimed at educating ourselves on various social issues through fiction and non-fiction books. Here's how it works: 1. Every month we pick a book to do with a social issue we want to learn more about 📚 2. Throughout the month, we'll discuss on here and on our twitter (@thetriageblog) 🗣 3. [close] The Becoming is the first book of Hal Eisenberg's 4-part series, Beautiful Souls. It is a fictionalized version of Hal's life story, told with names and places changed to protect the identifies of those involved, including many who have suffered through traumatic experiences. The purpose of this club is to extract key concepts, themes, and stories that would have the greatest chance of resonating with the public, and to consider ways in which our team could integrate such ideas into our marketing efforts. Club members are encouraged to read only as much as they have time for. No reading is necessary to participate, seeing as most themes from the book are universal. Members are encouraged to share their own stories, insights, and experiences as they relate to these themes. Themes: Spirituality, Wellness/Mental Health, Education, Youth Issues, Arts/Entertainment, Parenting, Societal Issues (homelessness, addiction, suicide risk, etc.)

[close] Would love to focus on revolutionary authors and historians, social justice movements, politics philosophy and more. Whether that is through fiction or nonfiction, does not matter. Books that are eye opening and discuss things that arent directly taught. Pretty much anything is welcome if anyone wants to present a specific book please feel free to include it here. The hope is to achieve deeper understanding and engaging communication through books but also through each other, we all have different strengths and backgrounds of knowledge and information, we learn most from each other.
