Do you support banned book week?This group is for you. Here we read a new book every month, and discuss why it was banned, and provide reviews of books. Invite your friends! The more the merrier. Come along the journey of the banned book society.

[close] Whether you are already part of a book group, are interested in setting one up or are an individual who would like to take part, then this is for you. Sign up for Read for RNIB and read one of our suggested books. Everyone that registers will be sent exclusive discussion points from our chosen authors, written specifically for the Read for RNIB Reading Group. There will be questions about the overriding themes of the books, plot development and the characters involved. However, the ‘novel’ idea behind this year’s Reading Group is that all of the books chosen feature a blind or partially sighted character. This means that you will also receive thought provoking questions that focus on this character and their journey throughout the story.

Coming from a country that isn't too keen on candidness and the complete freedom of expression has allowed us to finally ask the question: Should books be banned? Every month we would engage in the reading of a book that has been banned by a government, library, association, or group in recent history and in current times. Reading books challenged or banned by society strengthens and opens up the mind. The books that society bans reflects greatly on society's flaws. So get a head first on your intellect and oppress censorship!
