[close] Q & A interview Can you tell us a little about your books and yourself? What inspired you to write your books? My life experiences have. As we go through life, we learn from all the assorted events that occur, the good, the bad, the happy and the sad. Books are a wonderful outlet to share these experiences and the readers will walk away with a new since of experience, new thoughts to life events and hopefully, be inspired. Did you learn anything from writing your book and what was it? Oh yes, I learned so much writing Marybeth’s Final Journey. I learned the amazing bond of family, love, laughter and life shared, even when faced with the outcome Marybeth faced. What are some challenges that you faced while writing? There were many nights I couldn't write, due to the overwhelming and challenging personal events of this story. Sometimes, facing your own challenges or hurdles, makes doing it very worthwhile. Who or what in your life would you say influenced you the most? Wow, that is a big question. Because there have been so many dear people in my life who all have made an impact in some way, I cannot pick just a person. I will say that that literally my life experiences were my biggest influences. I chose not to be a victim of circumstances but to learn from all the good and not so good things that happened to me. I have a passion for life, love and happiness and I am quite successful of being a “Ray of Sunshine” to those in my life. Do you have any advice for aspiring writers? Yes. If you are passionate for writing, don’t let life pass you by with so many obstacles, that it makes it impossible to complete your literary work. There is also a Facebook page located at: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Memoir-Book-Club/189211074489649?sk=wall Memoir Book Club was established by Thomas Lister-Looker in October, 2011 for those who enjoy reading Memoirs and are looking for a venue to discuss Memoir authors, books, themes, and publishing. Memoir Book Club is intended to work just like a regular book club, but rather than gathering at a local coffee shop, bookstore, library, or at someone's home on a regular basis to discuss the "Memoir of the Month" we'll do it online. This way we're not limited to geography and/or picking a day and time that is convenient for everyone. Ideally the "Memoir of the Month" will be announced during the week prior to the beginning of each month to give everyone time to get their copy of the Memoir by either purchasing it from their local bookstore, ordering online (e.g. Amazon or Barnes & Noble), checking it out from their local library, or downloading an e-book version. Each month we'll read the selected Memoir and throughout the month everyone can post questions/comments, etc. My hope is to get the author of the Memoir to join our group while we're reading their memoir, or at the very least respond to some of our questions/comments. The months of November and December, 2011 will be dedicated to getting people to join the Memoir Book Club on Facebook. January 1, 2012 will be our kick-off month with our first Memoir selection!
