Wow. I am hoping to read this book this month or next...and I already know I c..."
Yeah, I was young and in my feelings. LOL

Glad you are still enjoying Murderbot. I think book 5 is the full length novel (or is it 4), and its not as good. I think she needs to leave the formula alone and keep these as novellas. It was still enjoyable though.
The Screwtape Letters is actually pretty good. Gave it 4 stars. I love a good classic.

The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison

This was a rough one. I had the nerve to read this, Sula, and Tar Baby; back to back. I was a wreck.

4 red stars. Reread.
A childhood favorite and one I reread several times, although not for many years n..."
Enjoyed both of these classics. A very different time and both books bring about tough discussions. I managed to grab copies off kindle which were divvied up into smaller books for some reason. It made it more digestible for me.

I've read it twice; both times as a teen. Not sure if I have the time to delve back into it after all of these years. Glad you enjoyed it.

I've been reading some of the shorts of this on kindle, and enjoy them; but they do not have the spark of the Silo series.

7) Lionheart (Plantagenets #4) The fourth book of this series focuses on Richard (the Lionheart), now one..."
Kudos on a great month of reading, Patricia. :)

Moveable Feast is on my tbr, as well. That will have to wait. I can do Dickens anytime, Steinbeck; but Hemingway.... *sigh*... he must wait.

I think I should change the Horrid, but it sounds "right"?? 🤔😂 You can tell that he loves himself, and loves to "hear" himself talk. Oh well.

There are a lot. Plus, Miss Marple and Mr Tuppence. I don't like Marple as much, but she's a hoot.

Yes; and I was a little weird back then, as I loved classics and horror. Go figure. LOL

I found his short stories to be quite accessible. I read The Nick Adams Stories and l..."
I need to try those, as well, Laurel. I love short stories.

Sad, I can agree. I think I have to be in the mood for Hemingway. I loved the Old Man and the Sea; which I hated when I was younger. Maybe, just maybe, I'm the drama. LOL

So, I read Hemingway when I was in HS, of course, for English class. I remember enjoying the 2 books we read. Now, reading this one, its either horrid because it didn't thrill me or its horrid because it fails in comparison to the ones I read in school. OR, and this is weird, but now that I am older, maybe it just doesn't resonate with me.
I must reread For Whom the Bell Tolls
Recommendation: The Old Man and the Sea, which I loved!!

There are so many; and this is only #22. I think there are more than 35 or 40; yes?

An ill-fated romance brewing in Italy during the WWI. It was sad and everything that could go wrong, did. The misogyny was strong with this one, though. It is very dated and doesn't seem to make a case for true love or romance. The passages about war, battles, etc. were much more engaging for me, hence 3.5 stars.
I tried this on audio and was not impressed. Its like someone on the phone, droning on and on. *sigh*
I essentially loved the story though; so, I think I should read the paperback copy that I have. Its Hemingway, so, depending on what he's writing, it was either going to be great or horrid. LOL

What must one do when ALL the evidence points to only one person?? Of course, Hercule uses the little cells and figures it all out.

I'm reading the final book of the Miss Peregrine series, so far it's good. Maybe not the best of the series, but still very interesting. I'm curious about..."
Good for you, Faouzia. I thought Eyes of the Dragon was a quick read, but the copy you show, says 400+ pages. Mmmmm
I'm getting back to mine, as well. I have to read 16 more off of this challenge, to meet my goals. *cries*
