So yeah, my life isn’t the greatest right now, but then it goes straight to the absolute worst hell when I accidentally make my sister’s spell glitch and curse my whole family. And the only person who can help non-magical me break the spell? You guessed it. Gil the super hot jerk.

Now we have to work together to save my family and outmaneuver some evil-minded nefarious forces bent on world domination. Oh yeah, and we have to do all that while fighting against the attraction building between us because I may not be magical, but what’s happening between Gil and I sure feels like it.

Finished! I really enjoyed this one.

Damn, I wasn't expecting Billy's dad to be the one who was having the affair with Diane. So I was right about the affair at least and that being connected to why Jet was attacked. I was still holding out hope for a miracle for Jet but her actually dying makes sense. Billy confronting his dead and Luke finding out his real father is the one who killed his sister was intense. Luke then killing him was crazy. Overall the ending was so fast-paced, I loved it.

I wonder what Diane's secret is? It's about Luke and no one else knows so my guess is that he's not actually Jet's dad's son. I think she had an affair. Also, guess I was wrong about Luke being the killer but that stuff with Henry was super shady so he was up to no good at least. At this point I'm not sure at all who the killer is.

Ok so I don't buy the police's theory that JJ was the one who attacked Jet. I just feel like it's too convenient and they're not really looking for a real suspect. Also I feel really bad for Jet with how much she's deteriorating. I keep hoping for a miracle for her but I don't think she's going to get one. At this point I'm still mostly convinced that Luke is the one who attacked her.

Still planning to pick up book 2 this month.

I just grabbed this one as a Read Now on Netgalley if anyone else gets it and wants to buddy read.

You can count however many pages you read in October for this challenge (as long as you read at least 100 pages in October).

I will likely just add my books to the spreadsheet after I finish them and post them. I don't want to hold on to a spot that someone else may have something for in case I take longer to finish the book than they do.

Ok Persephone turning Minthe into a plant at the end there was fantastic. She's been messing with Hades for so long and trying to ruin Persephone's life so it's nice to see Persephone get back at her. Overall I enjoyed this volume and I'm looking forward to seeing how Persephone's trial goes.
