35559 London by Edward Rutherfurd

A master of epic historical fiction, Edward Rutherford gives us a sweeping novel of London, a glorious pageant spanning two thousand years. He brings this vibrant city's long and noble history alive through his saga of ever-shifting fortunes, fates, and intrigues of a half-dozen families, from the age of Julius Caesar to the twentieth century. Generation after generation, these families embody the passion, struggle, wealth, and verve of the greatest city in the Old World.

35559 Sad day in Sydney today. I don't live near Bondi, but it has still affected so many of us. One of our team does live there and was at dinner at a restaurant last night when they were told to go and hide in the kitchen. So hard to imagine the fear and confusion.

35559 It took 6 weeks, but I finished! My goodness that was one big and convoluted book. Luckily I love the characters and her writing.

Way of Kings is very different. I love all of Sanderson's stuff, but the YA books are very different. Way of Kings is classic high fantasy

35559 Thank you ☺️ I did have to go in later and change the date. So annoying

35559 GR is driving me nuts this morning. I can’t mark a book as read on the desktop and in the app it tells me I can’t use a read date in the future 😤
Hopefully I have managed to at least mark it as read and will change the date later once the US time catches up with me if I need to

Wow that sounds like a lot especially right before the holidays! I hope it is sorted soon and yes I agree that being grateful for what we take for granted is important too.
It was 41c here yesterday and I was very grateful for living somewhere with consistent electricity!
