Our goal is simple: to create a genuine space where readers can discover books, exchange ideas, recommend great reads, and have respectful conversations about the stories, authors, characters, themes, and ideas that stay with us.
At Kimmies Bookish Society, we believe reading is more than simply finishing a book. It is an opportunity to learn something new, see the world from another perspective, discover different voices, and connect with people who share a love of books.
What We Do
📖 Read and discuss books across different genres and subjects 💬 Share thoughtful reviews, reactions, questions, and recommendations 🌍 Welcome readers from different backgrounds and countries 📚 Discover new and established authors and their work ✍️ Occasionally feature authors and their books through reader-focused Author Spotlight discussions 🗣️ Create meaningful conversations about writing, storytelling, ideas, and the reading experience 🤝 Encourage respectful and genuine interaction between members
Our Author Spotlight activities are designed to help readers learn more about the people and ideas behind the books they read. When an author participates, discussions may explore their book, writing journey, creative process, research, inspiration, and the ideas they hope readers will take away from their work.
This is first and foremost a readers' community. We want members to feel comfortable sharing honest opinions, asking questions, discovering books, and participating at their own pace.
Our Community Values
We value respect, curiosity, kindness, thoughtful discussion, and genuine appreciation for books and authors. Different opinions are welcome, provided they are expressed respectfully.

Your friends reference it, your husband/wife/boyfriend/girlfriend/"sort of thing?" raves about it, even your favorite movies quote it, or it IS your favorite movie but you've never read the book. This group is for those of us for whom one of the following may apply... - we have finally developed a taste for reading and are severely behind on classics; - we kindaaa, sortaaa, but actually slept through English class in high school and used Sparknotes/Hollywood remakes to write our book reports; - we buy a book that everyone is talking about and it sits on our shelf, and sits there... and sits there; - we've heard the hype and are finally getting around to reading the actual book; - we want to expand our horizons beyond the single genre we usually read and want to do so with some time-tested material; - we just plain old want to get everyone off our backs for not having read _____.
Every month we'll choose three books to read: 1) a classic (that everyone has probably read but us), 2) a "modern" classic or popular book that everyone is talking about, and 3) a bookshelf catch-up in which we choose a book the group has already read to catch-up with other members....more

Can reading a great book change your health? Sometimes, one new idea is all it takes to change the way you eat, move, sleep, manage stress, communicate with your doctor—or simply think about your health.
Welcome to Read Your Way to Better Health, a Goodreads community for people who love learning how to live healthier, feel better, and take a more active role in their well-being.
Together, we'll discover and discuss fascinating, practical, and thought-provoking books about health, Lifestyle Medicine, nutrition, movement, sleep, stress, longevity, metabolic health, brain health, patient empowerment, healthy aging, and the science of living well.
I'm Coach Dr. Ann Hester, a double board-certified physician in Internal Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine, CNN-featured health expert, and author of Lifestyle Medicine: A Scientifically Proven Path to Prevent, Treat, or Reverse Chronic Disease and Patient Empowerment 101.
I created this group because there are extraordinary health books being published—and great ideas become even more powerful when we discover, discuss, and put them into action together.
This community isn't about one author or one book. We'll explore books from physicians, scientists, researchers, health professionals, and other authors who have something meaningful to contribute to the conversation about better health.
We'll recommend books, choose books to read together, discuss fascinating ideas, separate health facts from myths, share discoveries, and occasionally invite authors and experts to join us for conversations and Q&As.
You don't have to read every book to belong here. See a conversation that interests you? Jump in.
Start Here
Introduce yourself and answer one question:
What health book has changed the way you think about your health—or what health topic would you love to understand better?
Your next great read might lead to your next healthy change.
