oliviasbooks @Jillian. You can force a particular edition to appear, if you use the ISBN. I'll look them up. Thank you, it's a great example.

I sure agree. I was so surprised! I am an artist and would love to create book covers. They really should create an original cover for each book instead of doing this. I had no idea.

oliviasbooks Namida... wrote: "brilliant list. who is that woman on all these book: taking liberties, push not the river, wuthering heights..etc?!!!!"

According to Wikipedia it is the face of Emma Hamilton (~1765-1815), famous late eighteenth century English personality and Horatio Nelson's mistress. This picture is a painting of her by George Romney in the role of Circe.

Themis-Athena (Lioness at Large) Where's the matching cover for the Signet edition of "War and Peace"? (Currently one of several books ranked #120 on the list.)

message 34: by Calembour (new)

Wow. Thank you for posting that link! And even if you haven't added any books from the "Reusable Cover Art" page yourself, do feel free to vote for those books from that page that have been added in the interim ... :) (Alas, for the most recent additions you'll have to go all the way back to page 3.)

Themis-Athena (Lioness at Large) That portrait of Emma Hamilton has got to be one of the most frequently used cover images ever ...

message 38: by Thom (new)

Thom Dunn I clicked on a couple of these so this neat list would be in my list of lists, but right now I can't think of anything to contribute. ...But I will, I'm sure of it .... like so many, I never gave it a thought before. Caravagio gets used a lot, and Brueghel. I'll be bach !
