I want to compile here a list of non-fiction books about the countries of the former Yugoslavian Republic. Books should deal with the history and the nation-forming processes and difficulties of the region.

Preferable are books about:
* general history, to understand the problems of nation-forming
* historical events that are linked to the religious diversities that make this region so special
* cultural diversities
* ethnic and religious identity
