Tasha Turner The Poppy War is not YA according to the author

message 2: by Kelsey (new)

Kelsey Trail of Lightning is not YA either.

message 3: by Contrarius (new)

Contrarius I’ve removed Trail of Lightning, which is clearly not YA. I’m leaving The Poppy War, at least for now, because its protagonist is young and a case could be made for it in this category no matter what the author thinks.

I.
The Poppy War is not YA according to the content either, it includes extremely graphic depictions of general violence and torture, war crimes and sexual violence of all kinds. While I have no doubt there are YA readers who can handle this kind of disturbing content, it's not something they should stumble upon blindly.
