This is for those books that deep down you feel guilty for liking. Either because you winced the entire time reading it due to grammar or writing style. Or perhaps when you finished reading you knew that deep down the characters had no personality and their development had much to be desired. Maybe you read the book and the protagonist was really just an awful person, yet for some reason they were the hero? These books lack depth, they lack great plots, they lack in so many ways ...... AND YET .... you loved it. You devoured it, you want to recommend it to people yet you have nothing great to say. You don't want to give it 5 stars out of shame of liking such a bad book, but secretly, you know it was a 3-5 star read for you. These are THOSE books. Those guilty, I don't know why I liked this book, books.
Books to add:
-Books where the main romantic interest should get a restraining order, not a marriage proposal.
-Books that use old tropes like "Not like other girls!"
-Books with Mary Sues and plane Jane's that are magically perfect and great at everything.
-Books where the men have everything easy and things just work out, even though it shouldn't.
-Books with characters that have zero depth and zero growth, flaws, and real challenges.
-Books with rambling sentences and incoherent styles.
-Books that have terrible morals or have characters that teach terrible lessons.
-Books that make your feminist side wince.
-Books that are total rip-offs of another book you read.
-Books that have nothing unique or creative that should be able to pull someone in.
Every book you add though, you have to actually like. We can all add horrible books, but the secret to this list, is even though these books are soooo bad, they are also sooo good. We enjoyed them. We would read it again. We know it's not good, but we can't help but LIKE IT.
