I can't add certain books published this year? Weird.
Utopicdrow wrote: "I can't add certain books published this year? Weird."It might be because the original publiction year is not filled in.

Oh okay, I'll dm the authors, maybe they'll add it.
It won't let me add the book I wanted to add either. It says "not published this year", but it was published this year. Something is wrong.

Hey! Hope you're well. A reader of mine flagged that they had voted for my book (Before and After) and that it was at the top of the list but they then reported that the book had gone missing from the list. Any idea why it might have been taken off?

Booklovinglady wrote: "Andrew wrote: "Hey! Hope you're well. Booklovinglady wrote: "Andrew wrote: "Hey! Hope you're well. So possibly, it runs the risk of them adding it back on, only for it to be removed again. I'm fine if it's a genre / cover / publisher issue, I'd just like to know so I can let readers know. I'll ask if they can add it and see if it disappears again.

Oh well, it's a nice sunny Saturday and there's probably more valuable things I could waste my time on! Thanks for the answer.

After all, librarians are also people :-)

Provide a link to books first published this year that can't be added and I will fix them for you.
Andrew wrote: "Hey! Hope you're well. It is back on the list now, but with only one vote.

It's a mystery, it seems for some reason a GR employee removed the votes it had. My book is still on other lists, so it seems this was the only one it was purged from. Bit weird!
Andrew wrote: "Deborah wrote: "Andrew wrote: "Hey! Hope you're well. Please let your fans know they can vote for it now.
I added a book that was already on the list. I don't know how to delete it
Rosalie wrote: "I added a book that was already on the list. I don't know how to delete it"You can always remove your own votes, but don't worry, I'll run check for duplicates.
Joy wrote: "Flock"Joy, if you want to vote for these books, you have to add them yourself. Use the tab at the top of the list.
It won't let me add the book I want to add. It says it wasn't published this year, but it was.
Reader wrote: "It won't let me add the book I want to add. It says it wasn't published this year, but it was."What book? Provide a link and I might be able to fix it. The list goes by the original published date, but that field is blank for lots of books.
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5...Thank you. The publication date is listed as April, but the book was delayed and didn't come out until August. But it was still released in 2020.

Fixed.
I'd like to vote for Vision or Mirage: Saudi Arabia at the Crossroadsby David Rundell published Sept 2020. Can you remove "not published in this year"? Why not allow votes for all books published in 2020, as stated by Goodreads in book description??

The list's description at the top of the page says that it is for all "books published during 2020." The book you mention has a pub date of September 2020, so you can go ahead and add it.

Unfortunately, there is no box that permits me to vote for it. Instead, there is a label that says “not published during this year”. As you point out, the book was published in 2020. That is my complaint. Try voting for it yourself.

Vision or Mirage: Saudi Arabia at the Crossroads
Is this the book you're asking about?

I added the year, it should be addable now.
