I've read a lot of these and fast paced they are not!!

The English Patient, Gone with the Wind, The Outlander? Really?

Lord of the Flies, 1984, Catcher in the Rye? (Are we rereading the high school summer reading list again?) sheesh come on!!

Agreed on the first two! I'll consider removing English Patient and gone with the wind cuz they're so so slow and the book isn't as good as the movie. But I'm a dystopian kinda of girl and Finished Lord of the flies in an afternoon. Outlander is easy to read if you watched the tv show first and I guess that's why it's here.

I did watch Outlander first, after the first season I was too impatient and I got the books. My issue with her is (not the 700+ pages each book is) that she is so over descriptive. She will drone on and on for pages about the flowers in the field and such and I felt it bogged them down a little. I read the first 4. I will give you The Lord of the Flies since I haven't read it in 3 decades lol, Catcher in the Rye is also quick, I left alone The Joy Luck Club and To Kill a Mockingbird.

I saw Mazerunner, The Hunger Games, and Twilight but no Harry Potter so there's that LOL, Amy hater of YA 🤪🤣🤣

I never said the list has to be "YAless" just I don't want Twilight, Potter and Hunger games in the first page like half the other lists. I made myself clear but of course people will add anything with a movie adaptation cuz many people in goodreads don't read at all, they're just spammers.

I hate when the staff messes up with Listopia!!!! Not cool!!!A goodreads employee erased the duplicates for Pestilence by Thalassa sensei and their edits don't appear in the librarian log. It's similar to what one of them did to Amy Harmon during romance week 2020 when they messed up with the official cover.

Notice the last edit reflected was on March but on May 20 they merged Pestilence editions and the one that was on the top 5,



suddenly was replaced by the muscled-guy one. Ugh!



The one that originally had more votes was the beautiful one, so they came and made the other the top one.
They don't want the original cover at the top !!!!

I'm gonna ask the Thasalanites that voted for the original cover to vote again. Goodreads doesn't want people to find out that many of the most beautiful covers are made for self published bestsellers and that many of the best books published ever are by authors that publish for small prints, KU or they just go indie!!!!

Mark my words Goodreads: Soon you'll be replaced by other aggregator sites unless you start to attract the KU coolest readers and leave your tradpub bias. Treat your readers and authors respectfully or they'll abandon you!

Also I have made clear that I hate the abs cover!!! I don't want it in the top five of my list!!!

Wait, if there's a page limit, why is A Court of Mist and Fury on it? Is the limit just a basic rule that can be bent in the right circumstance or was it broken just for that book?

I was talking about a completely different thing!!!! Page limit? I don't know what you're talking about and if there's a book that deserves to top my list is ACOMAF so so good!! You have to read it if you haven't already Kriss san you're going to fall in love with Rhys!!
Guuuuuyyyyssssss let's not lose our focus. The whole point of my diatribe is that there have been nasty incidents with my favorite author's covers and they never leave a register in the librarian log, cuz they aren't made by librarians, they're made by the Goodreads staff.

I created this list, set the rules, and I asked librarians not to remove duplicates, No librarian messed with my list. But then there was a merge of editions not for all the books that are duplicated, just for pestilence. How's that? And before that, there had been nasty incidents with the original cover of pestilence. Like an employee adding a message to the first edition that no librarian should add the original cover. Please don't be naive and think it's because the art was allegedly stolen. That had nothing to do with that.

So the librarians respected my list, but a GoodReads employee targeted Pestilence. Not cool!! And it's not just Pestilence, I had problems with the original cover of Making faces by Amy Harmon, too. More of that in a post on the group you moderate.

These books have action or romance or suspense, or humor, or sex, or suprising twists, or everything combined, and keep us glued to their pages. we read to be entertained! Reading is what we do to have a good time!

NO CLASSICS. NO BOOKS WITH MORE THAN 500 pages.

I've said this before, but just in case:
LIBRARIANS, PLEASE DON'T ERASE DUPLICATES BECAUSE I NEED DIFFERENT EDITIONS OF THE SAME STORY IN MY LIST: TRANSLATIONS, AUDIOBOOKS, PAPERBACKS, EBOOKS, HARDCOVERS, ALL THE COVERS OF THE SAME BOOK ARE WELCOME!!
If I read the book or the AMAZON sample and think it's not fit for this list I'll REMOVE IT!

Whoops!!! I had forgotten that I set a page limit!!! ACOMAF shouldn't be on top! This list is meant for books you can finish in a day or less, and A court of mist fits the rule, but not the page limit, I'm so so changing the rules. Thanks for pointing out!!

All done Kriss sama!!! There's no page limit, I just hope I don't end up with books like War and Peace LOL!!!!
