The Resilience Shelf Project is a shelf at each hospital where I work with books to increase joy of work for Physicians (and those in Allied Health Professions as well). Books need to be about doctors, inspiring, or just fun to read and funny. The idea is to decrease Burn Out and make docs feel they are not alone. Most of us are Bibliophiles (or we wouldn't have made it through med school). The Shelf is in the Doctor's Lounge. I buy the books, put it on the shelf. The idea is that doctors can borrow the book without signing it out for as long as they need it, and (hopefully) return it when they are finished with it.
If they don't return it, I will just buy another copy and put it on the shelf.
