Brian Fagan Although I found it riveting, my favorite, The Highway, has the lowest average Goodreads rating of the books here, 3.89 !

Thanks for voting! The Highway scared me to death. I guess it is one of the most terrifying books I ever read!

~☆~Autumn We used to drive thru Montana a good bit. It is very beautiful there but so wild.

message 4: by Donne (new)

Donne I've only read two books by CJ Box. The first one was Blue Heaven, great story and a 4star read. The second one was Three Weeks to Live, Uuuggghhh!!! Stupid story and I DNFed it at around the 40% mark.

Donne I have a good friend that really likes Box, but, so far, he's a hit and miss with me. She's been recommending the Joe Pickett series for years now, but I have reservations about a series around a game warden. Sounds like a lot of stories about poaching and abuse towards animals.

~☆~Autumn Yes, Joe Pickett tries to save animals but it is difficult in WY with so much territory to cover. Joe is a real good guy. My husband was a park ranger so he loves all these. We read them as they come out or did.

Lynn I’m only on Joe Pickett #14 so I really can’t speak to the later books and I haven’t read anything besides Joe Pickett among C. J. Box’s works.

Per this list I have read 34 of them. Guess it is accurate.

Sometimes, but there is actually way more people abuse… which surprised me.

Wow! Seems my last comment hasn't aged well. In the four months since I posted that, I've read the first two installments of the Jodi Luna series by Alisa Lynn Valdes about NM game warden Jodi Luna. LOVE IT!!! While the first installment had poachers who killed a protected wolf, the only dead animals in the second one were the ones hanging on the walls, which was just as bad. It does seem like both installments had way more human deaths than animal deaths.

That’s okay… this isn’t political Twitter where we drag things you said five years ago out to persecute you. And it would even be okay if you didn’t like Joe. I wouldn’t hold it against you. ;)

Lol, that's a relief😊 I'm still planning to check out Joe Pickett at some point.
