What about fiction for hippies, like Hope for the Flowers?

I would say no. The book has to have actual hippie characters in it, but it can be either historical or contemporary. Aging hippies, former hippies, or people living the hippie lifestyle in the modern world are also ok.
Thanks! I might change it if I start getting books that don't belong. We all know folks on Listopia sometimes don't read the description, lol.
some of my votes are for books with evil hippy characters. i cant decide if they are technically hippies as they dont fit the 'peace and love' definition of a hippy. i think it depends on who you are asking, if they are hippies or not. what's the verdict?
I'd say as long as they are described as hippies or would be seen as living a hippie lifestyle, that's ok. The hippies don't necessarily have to be positive characters.
i think the 'statement'/'rules' are ver clear. my only problem was in running up against characters that were too ambiguous for me to say for sure. so i went with more conservative choices. ..but...
has anyone read Richard Brautigan's 'In Watermelon Sugar'? it's very hard for me to decide whether or not the characters would be, in general, considered hippies.
thanks! : )
Haven't read In Watermelon Sugar, but if you want to add it, go ahead. Other reviewers definitely describe the characters as hippies.
i have read it. silly. its just not clear to me if the characters are hippies or not. but hypothetically, one might add a book they havnt read to a list just because it fits the rules for the list. then if anyone comes to the list looking for books with hippie characters, they will have more possibilities to choose from.
