Oops. My bad. I didn't realize it was 2009 books.

Are we putting books on here that aren't out yet? I thought this is for what is currently out and what others have already read and feel is good. I agree Catching Fire is probibly going to be amazing but since it's not out yet i don't think we should vote on it.
Any goodreads librarian can delete titles from a list, so I deleted a few of the most glaring errors (books absolutely published before 2009). It looks like this is going to be a misunderstood list, though, and that some people aren't going to understand that it's only for books published this year. The person who created the list should have said the "TOP TOP titles for children and YA published in 2009" to make it absoultely clear, unless they really do want a list of books that they should read in 2009!
I took THE HUNGER GAMES, a 2008 title off, and 15 min later it's back on. It's my personal favorite 2008 title, so I can't bring myself to delete it again if this list is going to have titles published in other years. Since I didn't create the list, I don't want to edit the description, but it might help if the list creator did!
I agree that Hunger Games shouldn't be on the list, since it was published in 2008. I'm a Goodreads librarian and would remove it, but I don't see how to do that.
I finally figured out how to remove books, and I removed The Hunger Games, since it's not a 2009 book. I agree that we shouldn't be adding books to the list that we haven't read, but I'm reluctant to remove Catching Fire in case someone has an early ARC.
Ok, I removed the following books, which were published in 2007 or 2008:The Graveyard Book
10,000 Dresses
How to Build a House
The Kindling of GreenFyr
Zorgamazoo
Big Fat Manifesto
Everyone: please try to make sure that the books you vote for are 2009 books, since that's the title of this list. Thanks.
I can't figure out how to add books, I'd Love to add The Ask and the Answer by Patrick Ness, it comes out in Sept and is really amazing -- I read the galley. I also agree regrettably the Hunger Games and the Graveyard Book and anything else from 2008 shouldn't be up unless we're just recommending YAs we adore in general.
Keely~On the right side of the list, there's a box below "find/add books to list". You just look it up and then vote on it. When I type in Ask Answer Ness, it comes up right away.

Removed for not being published in 2009:The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins (2008)
The Lightning Thief, by Rick Riordan (2001)
A Certain Slant of Light, by Laura Whitcomb (2005)
The Knife of Never Letting Go, by Patrick Ness (2008)
Sacred Scars, by Kathleen Duey (2008)
The Angel Experiment, by James Patterson (2001)
Firebirds Soaring: An Anthology of Original Speculative Fiction (2008)
