As the nights get shorter and colder, we're probably not reading at the beach. Instead, we're sipping on cider -- maybe by a fire, maybe just nestled in blankets, maybe stretched out in a hammock on a warm fall afternoon.

While it's a good season for slower and more somber works, sometimes you just want something fun and easy and seasonal -- a cider read.

Could be spooky -- or not. Could be romantic -- or not. So long as it's light, gripping, and seasonal, it belongs here. Aiming for a variety -- there are already lists dedicated to fall cozy mysteries, for instance.
