Perhaps list Chaucer's C. Tales for references to "the philosophical Strode" (who may or may not be the author of the Cotton Nero A 10 manuscript, and for--i think it's the Host--Tale in which teller says, " I can not rhyme "rim ram ruff" by letter, I am a southern man".

Thanks, and BTW how DO you do that ?
I went to Worldcat and found it and created the book record. Anyone can create a book record. (Or if you don't want to, you can have a librarian do it in the Librarian group.)

The five middle English romances does exist, I've got a copy. It's a little green hardcover, on the garland medieval series.

Neil wrote: "I have a couple of methuen old English texts going spare. We trade?"Sure. I'll send you this concordance, and you can judge its worth.

"The Parson's Prologue -- GR has separate editions of The Parson's Tale, which I added assuming/hoping that same would also include the Prologue!
Also added Peele's "Old Wife's Tale" (Huanebango: "I'll now set my countenance, and to her in prose; it may be this rim ram ruff is too rude an encounter.")
