Is missing lots of good historical Polish authors like Korkozowicz, Karol Bunsch, even Pawel Jasienica.

Schindler's List isn't really historical fiction. It was quite thoroughly researched and is heavily based on witness accounts. So it's really just history, though it's written in the style of a novel.
I know Henryk Sienkiewicz is Polish, but is Quo Vadis (#44) "set in Poland, or concerning Polish history", as the description of this Listopia says?
"While Still We Live" by Helen MacInnes, 1944. She's known as a writer on spy/adventure novels, and this one is. But it is full of Polish history, bits of philosophy all through it., and the developing of the Polish underground. Encompassing only Sept 1, 1939 and about 3 months following in its almost 700 pages, I found it hard to put down; her best novel.
