I like this list - I'd like to read more of these. I really enjoyed them as a kid. I'm interested to read them now as an adult to see if they have any bias to them (if there is such a thing as an unbiased history).

when i was younger these were like all i read. i used to think i had read almost all of them but some of these books ive never even heard of. oh well, guess i read the same books over and over again :)
There are so many more of these than when I was young... Man, did I love these. The Oregon Trail and Alamo diaries really lit me up...
In elementary school we would go to the library once a week, there was one section that only had these books. Let's say I spent the whole time trying t figure out which one to choose. These were all I read, and I miss them. So, I might have to start reading them again. I blame these for my addiction to historical fiction, my hopeless romanticism, and the fact that I cry way too easy.
I love them there my favorite books I have read all of them. Well almost all of them I think by the time i'm in high school i'll finish them.
I remember reading most of these in elementary school and I LOVED them. Not only did they teach me historical facts but I remembered those facts and those stories. Now I'm a jr. high English teacher and I recommend them to my students.
I read two of these in 5th grade, and all the rest over the summer :) Except for one that I read last summer around when it came out, and two I've yet to read, plus one I don't like. Still, I love the series!
Isn't "My Brother's Keeper" from the My America series, not the Dear America series?
I liked the one about the women's suffrage movement so much when I was younger that I wrote a twenty page research paper on the suffrage movement last year :D I use to love these books so much!
Technically, "My Brother's Keeper (My America: Virginia's Civil War Diary, Book One)" is not part od the "DEAR America" series. It should probably be taken off.
I love this list. Dear America is my favorite series! I've read 13 of them. My favorite is Voyage on the Great Titanic and Survival in the Storm.
This series was my childhood. I feel like I grew up with these girls because I read their diaries so much. I'd like to re-read these now that I'm going for my degree in American History and see if they add up to my general knowledge now.
I loooovvve Dear America and read all of them when I was younger and now I recently discovered Dear Canada and I love them as well!
I am a loyal Dear America reader, and have devoured every one in my school library. Tell me what your favorite Dear America book is, and if I haven't read it already, I will! I went through a list and apparently I've only read sixteen of the possible forty-two! I was shocked! :) My favorite is Across the Wide and Lonesome Prairie-- no wait, that's my second. A Coal Miner's Bride is my all time favorite D.A!!!!

I Thought My Soul Would Rise and Fly, Across the Wide and Lonesome Prairie and The Great Railroad Race are my favorite dear America books !!!!there so good . : )
