Thank you, thank you, thank you for making the list (and for adding to it, voters). I love novels by British women from the 19c and the 20c up until about 1960. What a treasure this is. To other U.S. fans having a hard time finding these in libraries: Gutenberg.org has some of the oldest titles. For the others, I'm trying to get at least one title from an author (or reading a really enthusiastic rec. from you all), then buying. Thank you!

You're welcome, I hope it has proved useful. As for good places to get hold of books, I know Gutenberg has a couple, Fidelity by Susan Glaspell, Consequences by E M Delafield, Making of a Marchioness & The Shuttle.
Openlibrary.org is also a good resource. There are quite a few on there, including the recently published (and excellent) London War Notes by Mollie Panter-Downes. Little boy lost by Marghanita Laski, Harriet by Elizabeth Jenkins, and Still Missing by Beth Gutcheon are also on there among others.
I'm thinking about setting up a companion list for the Persephone list since it's been nearly three years since I set this one up and I've read so many more since then.
Oh and Persephone themselves have put together a list of available free ebooks right here: http://www.persephonebooks.co.uk/pers...
which is probably more useful!

I've thrown a few ideas on there, if anyone has any other suggestions, feel free to add them! https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/8...
Hades And Persephone: Curse Of The Golden Arrow and Hades and Persephone: The Golden Blade should be removed. Nothing to do with the UK publisher.
