hi, I need help finding an older book that came out in the 70's or 80's. it love a love story and was somewhat about reincarnation.
it is about a young couple who marry and while on their honeymoon fishing, the husband drowns. the story is based in oregon. I love this book and want to find it again. it is fiction. i'm hoping someone will recall the name of the book. i don't remember the name of the book or the author. i hope someone can help. it is one of my favorite books and i want to get it again. thank you.

yes, I have looked at search engines. The book is about a woman thinking her husband was reincarnated, because the young man is so much like him, in ways he acts, etc... She is an older woman by I think about 30 years older than him. It was a really good book. I usually am not into reincarnation but the book was just so good. It is a fiction book. Just wish I could replace it. My original had gotten water damaged, and so thrown away. Back then they didn't have so much internet. I really wish I could remember the author or even the names of the characters in the book. I hope your friends can help. Thank you.

I should also say, at the beginning of the book while she is young and just married, her husband drowns while fishing. They never had kids. The book sounds like the location of the story is around Portland, Oregon.
When the young woman becomes older is when she notices a young man fishing close to where she is and she starts talking to him and noticing he is much like her deceased husband.
Hope someone can help me find this book. I believe I read it in the 80's.

Ok may I ask if you ever saw the movie 'Birth' with Nicole Kidman?

Just watched the trailer. No I haven't seen the movie. In the book, it wasn't a little boy but an adult man who she met that was like her husband who had died right after they were married. She didn't meet the young man until many years after her husband had died, and had never remarried or had children.
Thanks though, I do want to watch the movie Birth now. It looks pretty good.

it's been so long since I read the book, I cant remember any other details. I have about given up on ever finding it again. maybe someday I'll find it again, like in Serendipity, lol. thank you for your help.

I notice there is, in addition to this list, a separate list called "YA Reincarnation ". There are a lot of YA books on this list. Personally, not a reader of YA novels, I find myself clicking on many entries only to find, once again, they're YA. I shouldn't complain, because people are taking time to create and maintain lists, but i really would like to see the YA books kept to the YA list. Also, there are a lot of books here that are romance but not reincarnation, some that are reincarnation but not romance and a few that are neither. If you ever want a hand cleaning it up I'd be happy to help.
