Listopia > Authors Who Have Written Fanfiction
Fanfiction hit the mainstream with a huge splash when Fifty Shades of Grey was published, but fanfic has been around for far longer than Twilight and fandom is amazingly diverse. This list aims to illustrate that, while showcasing the best of what fans have to offer.
This list is for published authors that have also written fanfic. This isn't a strictly Pull To Publish list (that already exists), but you can add P2P books. I am counting media tie-in novels (Star Trek, Star Wars) as profic simply because they have been professionally published; inclusion in an unpaid fanzine does not count as professional publication.
Please only add an author if they have made a public statement about writing fanfic in a name associated with their pen name, and site your sources in the comments. If you are a Goodreads author who wants to add your books, just drop a note in the comments so your books don't get deleted!
Links to the author's fannish names or spaces will be removed, unless that author already linked their pro and fan names publicly. This will take some work on your part to add books, but I know that no one wants to out someone who isn't ready for that.
Note: I've hit my 100 book limit for this list, so please feel free to add more authors if you know of any. Or, if there is a book you like by any of these authors that isn't on the list please add it. I was limited on space so I only put the first book of a series on the list, and I tried to limit the number of books to a few of the highest rated books.
I've also created a Pinboard account for this list: FanficAuthors. Every book that's been voted on can be found under the Books + Listed tags. You can also check out the books and authors marked as ToAdd for things that I don't have room to add to the list myself, and the Discussion tag.
