Rainbowheart I'm not sure why this list was started? It's a duplicate to the one already on Goodreads. There's no need for two of them.

The only one I saw was "YA with potential GLBT themes." This list includes MG, and only contains books that have been confirmed, by the author or otherwise, as having GLBTQ characters.

Rainbowheart I'm going to remove the "possible" in the title as soon as the year is mostly over. I don't put books on the list unless I'm 90% sure there are LGBT themes. And if I find out there aren't, then I remove them. The list is for MG books too. Only 2 MG books this year (so far).

Anyway, I asked about this and apparently they don't really care if people to create duplicate lists. They do want people to follow the warning not to create a duplicate list, but they don't enforce it. So I guess this list is fine to have - but it still seems really unnecessary to create a list identical to one that's already established.

Charlotte Grubbs If it's identical, then that's unintentional - all the books listed are ones I did my own homework on.

As a queer person, I wanted a resource in which all the books featured 100% for sure feature GLBTQ characters in *lead* roles. Your list, while comprehensive, did not fulfill that requirement to my personal satisfaction, so I made my own. That's not a slight against you, or your research, or your list - just a reflection of my preferences as a reader.

If GR doesn't have a problem with this list, then I'm not really sure why you do.

Rainbowheart Ok, that's fine. You might want to update your list info then to say that you're only looking for queer characters in lead roles, 'cause some of the ones you did list only have side characters. And also one of yours is an adult book, not YA.
