My knowledge of Brazilian literature is limited to one author. In honour of the brilliant book by Ruy Castro, Garrincha and on the eve of Brasil 2014, arguably one of the worlds greatest sporting tournaments, I wanted to find some of the best reads related to the vibrant South American country.

As my journey is only at the very start, forgive if the list is obscure and misses the obvious. and as will be clear my knowledge of Portuguese is very limited. Peço desculpa.
